The first impression one gets when meeting Timo Standing Buffalo Cano is his fervor.
From the get-go, Timo lets you know from where he's coming and where he intends to go, all the while
enticing you to join him on the journey.
The second impression one gets is that he is larger than life. Timo is many things: dreamer,
singer, musician, storyteller, producer, business man. His story is big but his music is so much bigger.
Having played, for many years in numerous places with different bands, he finally had the opportunity to release his first solo album
in 2007, titled, "Feathers and Blades." It is a marvelous compilation of Native American sounds and classically
smooth jazz with just a hint of big band pop. With that album, Timo Cano managed to make an indelible mark on music's road.
It was Aldous Huxley who said, "After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible
is music." Timo's music does exactly that. He took his innate crooning ability and unleashed it full
force in his second album, titled, "A Place called Home."
His sound is mesmerizing. He delivers a perfect blend of jazz, pop, and big band, then brings it all together with the majestic sounds
found in his Native American heritage. Timo capitalizes on his amazing voice by creating songs that are filled
with imagery, stories, experiences and lessons. He diligently works at producing music that will uplift and fill the listener
with hope, love, and peace.
A man of dreams, Timo has found a way to manifest them. From engineer to producer to starting his own label to
developing a publishing company, he now helps others manifest their dreams.
He is also an activist for world peace. In order to express his kinship with the Burmese people and their plight for democracy,
he recorded the song, "On The Road To Mandalay."
Timo Standing Buffalo Cano is a man of wonders, dreams, hopes, and mysteries. His music is created
with a love for life and a will for living it. His music is truly a gift; and, Timo Standing Buffalo Cano gifts it to us all.
