David Geftakys
broadcast LIVE on the "IN" show.
Hollywood - CA
Music. We're almost never without it in some form: background music, themed music, elevator music...the list could go on and on.
We put music to work daily. We use it for seclusion, inspiration, communication. We incorporate it into as many aspects of our existence as possible: From the mp3 players
to the iPods to it blaring from our radio as we're cruising down the highway.
Music: the magic we use to express the unexpressable. I once read that "music is what feelings sound like" and David Geftakys captures that reality.
It was H. A. Overstreet who said, "I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places.
Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality."
David Geftakys and his music personify this universality. He has found the talismanic ability to verbalize the essence of human emotion and the
experiences those emotions manifest.
In his EP titled, "Lines In My Hands," David's lyrics are a looking glass into life's experiences - good and bad - that proceed to take us to a desolate resolution. He lets us know that
our mistakes, regrets, heartbreaks and missed opportunities may leave us wanting and waiting; but, they can also enable us to be willing to start again.
As for David's musical sound? It is refreshingly eclectic. As an artist, in every sense of the word, he draws from the collective music consciousness and causes a sound distinctly his own.
From the industrial undertones to the amazing riffs to the delicate nuances of cords on cords, David manages to keep it together while utilizing his sound to underscore his songs with unbridled energy and power.
With his newest album set to be released in less than a month, a video being crafted, and his constant drive to create, the "IN" show was extraordinarily delighted
when David Geftakys took the time to visit in studio.
Amidst sharing his influences, experiences and upcoming plans, he played music LIVE from his EP and his upcoming album. Known for his high-quality studio performances, David's live performances
are equally outstanding. So be sure to stop (look) and listen to the powerhouse musician known as David Geftakys.
