World Cyber Games - You Mean You Haven't Heard?
Beyond the Game.
Los Angeles, CA -
Globally, the World Cyber Games (WCG) is the premier international tournament in all of competitive video gaming, also known as eSports.
Founded in 2000, to promote global harmony through eSports, it has become regarded as the "Olympics" of eSports where gamers enter and compete in year-round,
online, and live national qualifying tournaments. These tournaments then lead to national championships which culminate at the WCG Grand Final global championship
where the best in the world compete as individuals and as a national team in order to earn the World Champion title.
With WCG breaking registration records in 2008 as 1.5 million gamers from 80 countries participated in the global tournament, it has clearly
become a true global phenomenon with one of the largest - if not the largest - worldwide prize purse at stake.
The World Cyber Games also is known to pride itself on leading the "Digital Entertainment Culture." It is behind the slogan, "Beyond the Game" and producing the reality tv show,
"Ultimate Gamer."
Certainly, the World Cyber Games can continue to reap the successes as it continues towards its mission of global harmony via eSports.
