18th Street Arts Center *
B.A.M. Fest! 2010 was all about bringing the trend of pairing art, music, and beer to raise funds via a charitable event.
Santa Monica, CA -
18th Street Arts Center took a unique opportunity and blended fun with entertainment and mixed it all up with a beer, wine, and cheese tasting.
The music lined up for the Fest! was as diverse and perfectly crafted as the beers for sampling. Taking the center stage and keeping the party going with their very danceable mix of soulful lyrics,
slide guitar, thumping bass and soaring percussion was Christopher Hawley and his Christopher Hawley Rollers. Also moving with rythmn and grooving the tunes was
the blazing Blue's infused sound of J. T. Ross (better known as the Harmonica Boss). Others masterfully included on the musical venue were the acoustic rock/pop musicians of The 3 Heads and the
American-folk, blue grass, Venice-based group Makepeace Brothers.
As for the art, it was masterfully represented by those of the Arts Center themselves; and, in order to widen the sphere of attendees,
the 18th Street Arts Center partnered with the Los Angeles-based organization, Create:Fixate and the artist-duo Rick Mendoza & Jim
Marquez.
To top it off (pun intended), the crafted beers present were indicative of the painstaking toils and extreme details that go into any masterpiece, be it art, music, or in this instance, beer.
Stay tuned into the upcoming events being held by 18th street by visiting their site. And, until the next B.A.M. Fest!, we
at the IN show leave you with a hearty, "Cheers!"
