The Annual Clean Air Auto Show and Green Living Expo.
One of the first such expos to seriously tackle the effort towards greener living.
Pasadena, CA - The Clean Air Car Show and Green-Living Expo held its fourth annual expo. Thousands of people, interested in ways to live greener and thus healthier, were attracted to the Expo.
The Expo is sponsored by the City of South Pasadena and South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD). (AQMD is the air pollution control agency for all of Orange County
and the urban portions of Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.)
Also supporting the expo are the dozens of businesses and local media that also provided numerous free educational seminars on electric vehicles, organic gardening, and the adverse health effects of air pollution.
Additionally, the Expo strived to serve as a venue for carmakers and eco-friendly product-makers to showcase both their newest creations and their continuing products. The IN show stopped by and spoke with three such vendors: HH2, Hollywood Electrics, and Tesla.
By far, the most awe-inspiring and hope-creating product for clean autos came from HH2. Invented by Dr. Derek Zupancic, HH2 is a device that can be installed in any vehicle; and, it uses hydrogen to enhance fuel combustion so that up to 98 percent of fuel is utilized.
All this while the fuel and its toxins are incinerated inside the engine. As a result, clean, warm, moist air is released from a car's exhaust pipe and thus cleans emissions. (For more information, listen to the podcast below this article.)
As for eye-catching product on display? That goes hands-down to Tesla and the Tesla Roadster. The Roadster, which uses 6,831 lithium ion batteries to power the car, has "288 horsepower at 0 rpm." said David Waxman, who works at Tesla's showroom in West Los Angeles. That is one FAST all-electric car. (Listen to
David's interview on the podcast, below.)
Last, but in no means least, Hollywood Electrics stole the Expo with the fine display of electric bikes and motorcyles. Adam Berkowitz shared the passion and mission behind his products and Hollywood Electrics. (Be sure to listen to his interview and more on the podcast below.)
It was clear to see, the intentions set out by The Clean Air Auto Show and Green Living Expo, were met above and beyond expectations. Those in attendance walked away with a renewed sense of hope and a strong sense of purpose that each one of us can make a difference in choosing to live cleaner and greener.
